The core members of The Dance Effect have been playing together in various formats for over 20 years, so we’re well knitted together with plenty of individual and combined experience. Good friends and good musicians – that’s the key to our success, and the fun we have playing together on stage is infectious.
We’ve played at parties, weddings, special events, corporate events and functions – from celebrity weddings in stately homes to residences in London’s Mezzo through to lively pubs/bars and restaurants locally – usually as a six-piece band and often adding extra brass or female vocals. We’re also the core of the Bar Blues Band, a 12-piece soul R&B band.
Based in Southeast England, we’re portable and we only play completely live (no pre-recorded tracks etc). Our set lists are versatile and we aim to cater for all tastes and age groups, but what we find works best at all parties is classic funk and soul covers and a selection of current hits.
